The trial regarding the “missing” videos of the freight train will now beconducted from scratch, as the proceedings—ongoing since last October at the Single-Member Misdemeanor Court of Larissa—collapsed yesterday. The presiding judge, following a heated exchange with lawyer Zoe Konstantopoulou, who represents the prosecution, stated she could no longer bear the insults and submitted a statement of recusal.

In yet another chapter of the shenanigans of Plefsi Eleftherias Party leader Zoe Konstantopoulou (which grants her judicial immunity) and her role as attorney for some families of the Tempi disaster victims, the Union of Judges and Prosecutors issued a harsh statement against her and Maria Karystianou, whom she represents, for what happened on Thursday at the Larissa courthouse, denouncing “Wild West scenes” and “fascist mentality.”
