International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde has dismissed reports that the body is trying to push Greece towards default as “simply nonsense”.
Her letter comes after Wikileaks published a transcript of IMF officials discussing bailout negotiations.

At 11 this morning, the financial team of the government will make its assessment after the first week of negotiations with creditors in Athens. Creditors will leave today in order to return in 10 days time for further talks. Labor Minister Giorgos Katrougalos described the negotiations as “detailed and tough.”

Greek authorities must carry out more reforms to the country's pension system and in the way Greek banks are managed, Christine Lagarde, head of the International Monetary Fund said on Thursday.
Lagarde, presenting a Global Policy Agenda at the fund's annual meeting with the World Bank in Peru, reiterated that the Greek debt was not sustainable and stressed that the Fund's view over the issue has not changed since last July when the IMF released its debt sustainability report.
