Lipsi is ranked in the top ten alternative destinations of the world, according to Girovagate.com, one of the largest travel blogs in Italy.

The municipality of Lipsi island is organising a series of actions and initiatives in cooperation with the Greek National Tourism Organisation in the Netherlands with the support of the island's professionals in an effort to tap the Dutch market.

As impossible as it may have seemed, it was thanks to the mayor's initiative to install on the island a machine that turns brackish water from the island's water supply network into potable water.
