The prosecutor in the retrial over the deadly 2018 Mati wildfire delivered her summation today, marking a pivotal moment in the case that has gripped Greece for nearly seven years.

Appellate-level public prosecutor Spyros Pappas on Wednesday lodged an appeal against the entirety almost of the court ruling regarding the devastating fire in Mati, except for that section relating to the private citizen that started the fire and caused the disaster.

A three-member misdemeanors court issued its verdict on Monday regarding the deadly fire in Mati, in 2018, which claimed 104 lives and left many injured.
