The sudden decision to halt Metro operations once again caused discomfort to passengers who couldn't get to work and created traffic chaos on the streets, with carsforming long queues in traffic jams on Athens' central streets.

The Golden Line metro in Doha -a project built by an Aktor-led international consortium- officially launched its operations a few days ago in Qatar. It is the biggest metro project undertaken by a Greek construction company abroad and one of the largest projects by a Greek company globally, with a budget of more than 3.0 billion US dollars.

The metro system in Greece's second largest city, Thessaloniki, currently under construction, will be ready for public use in its entirety by April 2023, said Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Thessaloniki on Tuesday.
