The Greek government has rushed in extra riot police to Lesvos amid warnings of potentially explosive tensions on the island following clashes between thousands of migrants and police.

The Movement for Change (KINAL) opposition party on Tuesday put the blame on the government over the explosive situation that has arisen on the eastern Aegean islands due to huge number of migrants and refugees that have arrived there and demanded the immediate decongestion of the islands.

The immigrants, who are accommodated in the Reception and Identification Center of the island, assaulted the local hospitals and "looted" from wheelchairs, washing machines and refrigerators to cardiographers, ultrasound scanners and surgical scissors! This is not the first time immigrants have reported incidents of violence, but this is truly unprecedented.
