Visitors and revenues in Greek museums posted a 32.1 percent and 31.3 percent rise respectively in December 2016 compared to the same month in 2015, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said on Wednesday.

The Culture Ministry on Tuesday announced the museums and archaeological sites in Greece that will operate with extended opening hours until October 31.

Ticket revenues at Greece's archaeological sites and museums were up 55 pct in the eight-month period from January to August 2016, compared with the same period in the previous year, the Archaeological Revenues Fund reported on Monday.
