The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on Thursday posted an article on Greece's upcoming general election headlined "Greece's voters turn to establishment amid Europe's populist wave", with the author predicting an election win by Kyriakos Mitsotakis' center-right New Democracy (ND) party over hard left SYRIZA.

Europe will have to take measures against Turkey "if the situation escalates at Cyprus' expense," said New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday, interviewed on Star TV. 

According to pollsters Opinion Poll, New Democracy seems to be securing an absolute majority conquer as their latest survey shows the main opposition party leading by double-digits against ruling SYRIZA. ND is approaching 40% of the vote.
