The electronic platform for registering in the postal voting lists went into operation on Monday. The activation of the platform, a few weeks after the passing of the relevant law, marks the establishment, for the first time in Greece, of postal voting as a means for facilitating voters in exercising their right to vote in the European elections and national referendums.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis convened a teleconference with top officials of Greek embassies and Permanent Missions abroad on Wednesday, to ensure Greek communities are informed about this option, which he called a significant democratic advancement for Greece.
This is the third consecutive year of an initiative started by the prime minister in 2022 to keep in touch with Greek diplomatic missions abroad.

After the passing of the bill on postal voting, the Ministry of the Interior began preparations for the proper implementation of this new institution in the electoral history of the country, but also for informing Greek voters, especially those abroad, about the steps they must follow so they can vote from home.
