The extreme weather forecast by meteorologists to hit the wider Athens area has already started in the western suburbs with the district of Petroupoli already feeling its effects with heavy rains.

Particularly heavy snowfalls will be seen from this evening in eastern mainland Greece (mainly in the regions of Attica and Voiotia), in the Sporades, Evoia, the Cyclades and Crete and will continue periodically through tomorrow. The phenomena are predicted to ease on Wednesday.
