In a period of global upheaval, both geopolitical but also economic, Evangelos Marinakis, founder and chairman of Capital Maritime & Trading Corp was the keynote speaker during the official lunch at the 19th Annual Capital Link International Shipping Forum at New York’s Metropolitan Club on the 31^st of March 2025.

A report by McKinsey & Company, conducted in cooperation with the Hellenic Shipowners' Association, highlights the central role of Greek-owned shipping in the global and domestic economy. The study highlights the industry's catalytic contribution to international trade while analysing the challenges and opportunities shaping its future. The industry's economic footprint in the domestic economy amounts to 14 billion dollars.

The new Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy Miltiadis Varvitsiotis presented his priorities for the next period at noon, during the ceremony of handing over the Ministry of Shipping from the acting minister Th. Kliaris. The event was attended by all the representatives of the Greek shipping agencies.
