The NGO Greek Council for Refugees (GCR) said on Tuesday it has filed a lawsuit at the Athens prosecutor's office against "everyone responsible" for what it claims is an illegal arrest and detention of one Turkish officer who received asylum by an independent asylum committee last year. 

The Administrative Court of Appeals has accepted the request for the temporary suspension of the asylum procedure on grounds of public interest but also for the interests of the Turkish officer himself, as stated in the decision.

A hearing on the government's request to cancel the asylum granted to one Turkish serviceman by an independent asylum committee last year concluded at the Athens' Administrative Court of Appeal on Friday.
