In a few years Astypalaia will be the quietest island and the waves of the Aegean will be the only noise that tourists will hear.

In the fight against climate change, Greece must be a leader, not a follower, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Thursday on Astypalea, the island which will become a model of smart and sustainable living with the collaboration of the state and Volkswagen.

Following the investment in the island of Astypalaia agreed by Volkswagen AG and the government for the development of e-mobility, combined with renewable energy sources and energy storage systems, the island looks set to become a small-scale model of future energy systems in Greece.
