Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis opened the cabinet meeting on Tuesday with a brief reference to international developments that, he said, have direct economic consequences.

A 28-year-old Turkish national arrested over the fatal shooting of his 25-year-old compatriot in the Athens district of Exarchia was brought before the former Evelpidon court complex shortly after 9:30am, having been transferred from police detention at the Athens Police Headquarters (GADA).

Continuing its long-standing policy of supporting and promoting Greek-language education abroad, the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports has officially recognised two new Greek Language Departments  in Europe: the Greek Language Department in Prague, Czech Republic, and the Greek Language Department in Toulon-Var, France.

A bipartisan initiative is underway in the U.S. Congress to prevent Turkey from rejoining the F-35 fighter jet program. The effort is being led by Democratic Representative Dina Titus of Nevada following comments by President Donald Trump suggesting that a new defense arrangement with Ankara could be possible ahead of the upcoming NATO Summit in Turkey.
