The Prime Minister, Antonis Samaras has proposed a new plan to end the political deadlock over the election of a new head of state in a televised address.

A traffic accident occurred Sunday afternoon in the very center of Athens and specifically in Panepistimiou Street, at the height of the University Propylaea (rectorship).

Figures from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), which are not adjusted for seasonal factors, show that just over 1.2 million people are unemployed, out of a population of around 11 million.
