Danaos: Order for four containerships

Danaos Corporation (NYSE: DAC) placed an order for four container vessels. The 7,200 Teu ships will each be built at Daehan Shipbuilding Shipyards in Korea and are expected to be delivered to Danaos in the first half of 2024.
The vessels will be able to also use methanol as fuel (methanol fuel ready) and will have open loop scrubbers) and will be constructed according to the latest requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in relation to the emission standards Tier III and the Index. Energy Efficiency Planning (EEDI) Phase III.
The CEO of the Company, Dr. Giannis Koustas commented, among other things, that the ships are at the forefront of new technology, have the latest specifications for emission requirements and are ready to use methanol as fuel.
