The government's decision on when and how the current lockdown is lifted will be based exclusively on epidemiological data, the development of the current second wave of the pandemic and the experts' conclusions, said Deputy Minister for Civil Protection & Crisis Management Nikos Hardalias during Monday's live briefing. 

People should keep calm and avoid going abroad unnecessarily in the face of an "emergency situation," government spokesperson Stelios Petsas said on Thursday, on an Open TV breakfast show where he was asked to comment on a number of issues currently in the news.

Syriza on Tuesday proposed a set of additional preventive measures the government should pursue against the coronavirus, following the party leader Alexis Tsipras' briefing by Health Minister Vasilis Kikilias and specialists.
