New Democracy has attacked SYRIZA for statements made by economist Costas Lapavitsas to the BBC.

Greek media have reported that there have been significant deposit outflows in recent days due to political uncertainty two weeks ahead of early elections.

In his interview referring to his meeting with former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn in the summer of 2009 and the allegations that it was then that he decided Greece's accession to the IMF and not in the spring of 2010 called them "nonsense."
