More than a hundred immigrants rescued in Aegean today.

A wooden vessel carrying 138 illegal immigrants was tracked by a Latvian Coastguard patrol east of Symi island, in the Dodecanese.
Latvia Coastguard was patrolling the area according to the joint EU patrol plan “Poseidon”.
The vessel was driven ashore a rocky area, as it was trying to avoid the patrol check. The immigrants tried to escape being captured, but were found at the rocky hill and were taken in by the Hellenic Coastguard.
Moreover, in the sea area south of Samos, a Frontex vessel captured another 7 illegal immigrants this morning.
Another two human traffickers and 37 illegal immigrants, aboard a sailing boat were also detained by the Hellenic Coastguard in the area of “Pefka” -Lindos on Rhodes island late last night.
