Golden Dawn Dropping in Polls

New Democracy leads by a very narrow 0.5 % over main opposition SYRIZA, according to an opinion poll conducted by GPO for broadcaster MEGA.
As the poll shows, ND leads with 21%, followed by SYRIZA with 20.5%, ultra-right Golden Dawn with 7.8%, PASOK and the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) with 6%, Independent Greeks with 4.5% and Democratic Left (DIMAR) with 42.5%, while 4.3%t of the respondents said they will vote another party, and 13.6% of respondents did not answer.
As to who would be most suitable for prime minister, current Prime Minister Antonis Samaras was chosen by 44.4% of the respondents, followed by SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras with 30.4%, while 23.7% said none of above.
Regarding the recent development on Golden Dawn, 76.6% said that the arrest of Golden Dawn's leaders was correct while 72.1% of respondents said that Golden Dawn is a threat for the democracy.
The geographic coverage of the opinion poll was nationwide and was conducted between 3 and 7 October 2013.
In another opinion poll conducted by MRB for private TV STAR and "enikos.gr" website, New Democracy (ND) leads by a marginal 0.6% over main opposition SYRIZA.
According to the poll results, ND was leading with 21.8%, followed by SYRIZA with 21.2%, ultra-right Golden Dawn with 6.9%, PASOK with 5.2% the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) with 5%, Independent Greeks with 4.8% and Democratic Left (DIMAR) with 3.6%, while 7% expressed preference to other parties.
In response to who would be most suitable for prime minister, current Prime Minister Antonis Samaras (and ND leader) was preferred by 36.6% of the respondents, followed by SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras with 25.1% and 34.8% of the respondents said none of the above.
The geographic coverage of the opinion poll was nationwide and was conducted between 1and 3 October 2013.
