Counterfeit goods seized in Athens

A shop with a large number of counterfeit goods was identified on Saturday afternoon, as part of police operational plan "Theseus" at Piraeus Street in downtown Athens.
More specifically, in the shop were found and seized a total of 65,535 pieces of counterfeit products (rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc.), with known logos from abroad. Also the sum of 12,705 euros was seized.
Two Chinese nationals, 47 and 29 years-old, the owner and the shop assistant respectively, were arrested were. A file was formed by the Omonia police precinct. Those arrested were taken to the Prosecutor of Athens. In Greek, such products are called "monkeys" (maimoudes)
