Prosecutor inquires into five mayors
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The prosecutor of the supreme court has ordered preliminary inquests in to the five mayors that are refusing a check on the legitimacy of tenure of municipal employees.
Ms Efterpi Kotzamani has asked the appellate prosecutors of Athens, Piraeus, Patra, and Larisa to conduct an inquest into whether the crimes of insubordination to authority and negligence of duty have been committed by the mayors of: Halandri, Simos Roussos; Zografos, Tina Kafatsaki; Larisa Apostolos Kaloyannis; Patra, Kostas Peletidis; Nikaia, Giorgos Ioakimidis.
It must be noted that the ministry of government reform has called for a re-evaluation of all municipal employees that were tenured in past years, trying to weed out people hired through falsified affidavits, such as forged diplomas, and others who did not meet typical qualifications.
