Turkish provocations cause demarche from Athens
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The Greek foreign ministry has proceeded to a formal demarche towards the Turkish embassy in Athens for provocative activities in EEZ(exclusive economic zone) of Cyprus.
Meanwhile SYRIZA has spoken of unacceptable tolerance or Tuskish provocations on the part of the UN and the EU.
The reaction of Greece was precipitated by the issuance of an illegitimate NAVTEX noting that the Turkish research vessel Barbaros would conduct research within the Cypriot EEZ.
After orders from foreign minister Venizelos, ambassador Anastasios Mitsialis summoned Turkish ambassador Kerim Ouras and handed him the demarche.
