The gun used by 31-year-old Albanian Alber Bako, believed to involved in at least four shootings in Athens with one death, was recovered from the sea at the Piraeus Port.
In his confession, the shooter had said that he was drunk and unaware of what was happening. Coast guard divers were seeking the weapons in the port of Piraeus where Bako had said he had thrown the weapon following his attack.
This gun recovered was most possibly used in other attacks Bako was involved in as well in the region of Metaxourgeio where a 43-year-old man was killed, in a drive-by shooting on 31 October and at a cafe in the central suburb of Agios Panteleimonas on the night of 6 October.
Authorities also arrested a 43-year old man, Yacob Margievski, alleged to be Bako's associate at an apartment in the northern suburb of Marousi that Bako had rented in order to reside with this girlfriend Rezanta.
