Group claims responsibility for failed bomb attack

A group calling itself "Anarchist Attack Consortium" has come forward to claim responsibility for the bombing attack against a bank in the early hours of December 10 in the northern Athenian suburb of Halandri, that fortunately failed .
Through a post on Indymedia anarchist-affiliated website, the group said it was acting in solidarity with jailed bank robber and self-proclaimed anarchist Nikos Romanos who had gone on a month-long hunger strike in demand of educational furlough.
The group said that the bomb they planted outside the Halandri branch of Eurobank failed to go off because of a fault in wiring.
An anonymous caller had tipped off the authorities to the planned attack.
