Greek tanker attacked by aircraft

One 29 year old Greek and one foreign national reportedly lost their lives when a Greek controlled oil tanker was hit with an airstrike by an unknown party. Another two crew members of the ship were injured.
According to early reports the tanker which is called the ARAEVO and was sailing under a Liberian flag was transporting 12,600 tonnes of oil. It was anchored in the Libyan port of Darnah when it came under attack from a warplane of unclear identity. Overall it had 26 crewmembers on board, 3 of whom were from Greece, 21 from the Philippines and 2 from Romania.
The Operational Headquarters of the Greek Coast Guard was notified of the incident by the company responsible for operating the ship. The Foreign Ministry has also been informed.
