Makri to run with SYRIZA

A former Independent Greeks lawmaker, Rachil Makri, will be running with SYRIZA in the elections of January 25, as announced on Friday.
The often controversial Makri, was ousted from nationalist Independent Greeks in November after a rift with leader Panos Kammenos and other members of the anti-bailout party, will be running for MP of Kozani in northern Greece. This after a direct intervention of SYRIZA chief Alexis Tsipras.
Her candidacy with the leftist party is seen as controversial, with a number of SYRIZA cadres objecting to her joining their ranks. Makri is seen by many in SYRIZA as media hound.
