Supreme Court prosecutor, Euterpe Koutzoumani, is conducting an investigation of childbirths, which have been registered throughout all of Greece.
The goal of these reports is to ascertain if there are false statements and children who are not with their biological parents. (This is in reaction to the recent discovery of an unidentified girl in a Roma dwelling in Greece, whose biological parents can't be traced.)
It is being noted that along with legal registrations by responsible authorities, children who are born outside of a hospital can also be registered.
In speaking to SKAI reporters on Monday, Greece's Deputy Minister of Interior, Leonidas Grigoratos, stated that the ministry is advancing a new manner of registrations for childbirths performed without the use of obstetricians with a DNA test.
