Floods force evacuations in Evros

Eastern Macedonia and Thrace authorities evacutated of two settlements (Lagynas and Poros) in Evros region due to floods.
Late Thurday the waters reached the first houses of the Lagynas settlement. Regional governor Giorgos Pavlidis said "we are before an unprecedented, historical high quantity of water in the area" he said adding that the water quantity reaches 2,850 cubic meters/sec.
Pavlidis said that Poros settlement was also evacuated late on Thursday and approximately 80 people have been moved to nearby hotels.
