Five euro fee for hospitals abolished

The current government has scrapped the 5-euro fee for hospital examinations that the previous government had set.

The move was announced following Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras visit to the Health Ministry and was announced along with other measures.

No sooner was the measure announced than it was officially signed by Alternate Greek Revenue Minister Dimitris Mardas, Internal and Administrative Reform Minister Panos Skourletis and Andreas Xanthou from the Ministry of Health.

The move is set to cost the budget less than 20 million euros annually.
