Sacrilegious thief uncovered
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Police arrested a man in Crete, who seems to be responsible for the burglary at Holy Monastery of Ampelakiotissa in Etoloakarnania and the theft of the relique of the right hand of St. Polikarpos.
The Holy Monastery of Ampelakiotissa was giving a reward of 15.000 euros to anyone who could help find the relique. The saint's member is encased in an invaluable golden hand like receptacle.
Ampelakiotissa is also known for the miraculous icon of Virgin Mary and the gold brocade Epitaph.
