Gruesome details in infanticide

Gruesome details into the last days of the life of AnnieBorisova, aged 4 when she died, emerged on Tuesday. Savvas Borisova, aged 27, appears to have killed his daughter though he claims that he had woken up to find his child lifeless.

For days prior to the crime, neighbors heard the child’s shrieks rising from the flat on Michail Voda Street in central Athens where she stayed with her father while her mother was in Germany. Prior to killing her, he beat her and tortured her with ice cold baths. For two months after her death he cut her body, minced it, boiled it with rice and disposed of it in trashcans around the city center.

In an effort to destroy all traces of the infanticide, Savvas washed the house with chlorine and prepared to change his home’s piping. He sold his daughter’s pram and bed, not once breaking down.

He reportedly expunged traces of his daughter so that the young girl’s mother would not leave him.

Police say that his character is revealed in his dialogues with law enforcement agents:

Police: Have you realized what you have done? Do you know what you are saying? I have questioned criminals and those involved in organized crime. Do you know what you are saying?

Father: All I want is a sweet frappe (coffee), bread and my dose. And I’ll be fine.

The father’s sobriety, orderliness, planning and hiding of evidence can be seen from actions such as the sale of the little girl’s pram, toys and bed from April 16-17 for 55 euros. He bought new household appliances to cover traces of blood from the murder. He cleaned everything meticulously and planned a replacement of pipes so that there would be no evidence to link him with the infanticide.

OKANA Psychiatrist had requested intervention prior to incident

OKANA (Organization Against Drugs) Psychiatrist Maria Kalogeropoulou spoke on private MEGA TV on Wednesday stating that she had counselled the couple for three years and had already informed authorities of the circumstances under which young Annie was living. Nonetheless, nothing was done. “I had personally gone to the prosecutor for intrafamily violence, Mr. Skandalakis, and had asked for the child to be immediately released from the care of those parents. But he did nothing,” said Kalogeropoulou.

Kalogeropoulou also revealed that the child’s father is bipolar but does not follow the medication, choosing not to take the required pills or therapy for his condition.

She said that the couple had stopped going to OKANA meetings for three months. “The mother wanted the child, but to have it raised by others and to visit it whenever she wanted,” stated the psychiatrist, refering to the money. “I wonder how the money allowed her child to come to Greece (from Bulgaria).”

Annie, born in September 2011, lived with her grandparents in Bulgaria. Her parents brought her with them to Greece at the end of February, start of March. Her life in Greece was a living hell!

Speaking on private MEGA TV, Regional Police Sergeant Christos Papazafeiris said that the father was fully aware of what he was doing when he murdered his child. He became a suspect as soon as authorities were alerted to the fact that the girl was missing. His friend’s testimony proved fundamental to solving the case. He leaves open the possibility of the mother having played an even greater role in the girl’s disappearance.

The murderous father will be transfered to Corfu prison. A cell has been prepared to keep him isolated from the other prisoners for his own safety.
