Third Posidonia Tourism Forum

The 3rd Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum, that will be held on May 26-27, in Athens, will focus on the economic impact of shipping tourism in Greece, with the participation of more than 800 professionals of the sector.

Cruise agents and shipping officials will come to the home of Greek shipping, and interact with the owners of the largest fleet under the control of any one national group, dominating the newbuilding orderbook and S&P market.
They will engage with technical and operations executives responsible for the industry’s most demanding fleet expansion programme, now widening into new sectors and creating a multi-billion dollar opportunity for suppliers of ships’ equipment and services.
Only at Posidonia do the Greek owners gather to do face to face business on this scale, at the centre of the largest gathering of international shipping professionals.
Rooted in Greek shipping, Posidonia continues its strong international growth. 2014 saw a record 1,843 exhibitors and 20,000 buyers from 96 countries, a massive additional audience for your products or services. This is the largest gathering in the international shipping calendar.
"The International Shipping Exhibition Posidonia has been established in the cruise and yachting industry. This year, we host the largest delegation of presidents and CEOs of the leading cruise companies worldwide," executive director of Posidonia Exhibitions Theodoros Vokos told media.
Asked if they expect more visitors from China, he replied that this year is the year of Greek-Chinese marine cooperation. In this context, the Chinese embassy in Greece, along with the Ministry of Commerce of Hainan, which is an important tourist destination in China, decided to organize a seminar within the framework of Posidonia to enhance the prospects of cooperation between the Greek tourism operators and the Chinese ones.
Cruise impact on the economy will be great and according to a Hellenic Chamber of Shipping's report, the cruise and maritime tourism can bring Greece 1 billion euro revenues annually while creating 40,000 new jobs.
