Α face-to-face meeting at a Brussels Group level is due today, following yesterday΄s teleconference, in light of the ECB’s Governing Council meeting and the EU Summit tomorrow at Riga.
Greek representatives will try to reach some sort of agreement at a technical level today so that the PM Mr. Tsipras will aim at a political solution tomorrow and possibly an Extraordinary Eurogroup on 25 May to unlock delayed disbursements.
Note that yesterday addressing a joint press conference in Berlin, German Chancellor Mrs. Merkel and French President Mr. Hollande said that talks must be accelerated to produce an agreement by the end of May.
Both are going to meet with the Greek PM tomorrow at Riga. EC President Mr. Juncker also expects a deal by late May or early June; while denying reports that he had proposed a compromise deal to the Greek government.
