An emergency Eurogroup meeting will take place on Monday, at 16:00, according to European sources.
Earlier in the day, French Finance Minister Michel Sapin said that eurozone finance ministers would meet again ahead of Monday’s summit. “A summit like this is prepared by finance ministers so there will be a Eurogroup meeting to prepare,” he said according to Wall Street Journal.
The emergency summit on Monday is a positive development, according to government sources on Friday.
"We sought the final negotiations to take place at the highest political level in Europe and we are now working for the success of this summit. Anyone who invests in the crisis and horror scenarios will be disappointed," the same sources added.
They also estimated that there will be a solution based on the respect of EU rules, and democracy, which should allow Greece to return to growth within the eurozone.
