BoG governor: Imports smoothing out

The situation with the capital controls is proceeding satisfactorily and within the next ten days we will have resolved any problems that have arisen, Bank of Greece (BoG) governor Yannis Stournaras said after a meeting with trade representatives.
As he stated, the approvals given for imports have been so far very close to the average monthly level of imports before the crisis.
Stournaras also said that effort is being made to further relax restrictions in the coming days. He noted that the system is already more decentralized and 70 percent of the decisions are now taken by the banks themselves.
