Disabled persons demonstrate outside Parliament
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
People with disabilities gathered outside Parliament, who are complaining against cuts to their pensions and benefits.
The disabled also sought to protest outside the Maximos Mansion, however strong police forces and buses, prevented their passage. Currently they are negotiating with the police officers.
In a statement issued, they are inviting citizens to stand by them.
"Following the constant cuts in the meager benefits, pensions and wages of disabled people and cause lasting deterioration in the quality of our lives, we invite all citizens, disabled or not, to sympathize with and participate in the protest rally." They note that "having exhausted every possibility of dialogue with the Government, the move is the principle of dynamic mobilizations to defend our lives, that are being threatened even more directly and to rescue what is left of our dignity."
