Ultra-nationalist terrorist cell discovered in Kalamata

Five members of the nationalist "group E", which are behind the bombings that occurred in a bank branch in Kalamata and the statue of Constantine Palaeologus in Mistras were arrested by police over the weekend.

These attacks were only the "dress rehearsal" for what might follow, as the members of the organization were planning terrorist attacks at key public buildings of Kalamata while the house of the head of the group hid a whole arsenal.
The element that led to the identification of the perpetrators was the strange signature bombers left behind. This is the Delphic "E", an ancient Greek symbol (key) that previously symbolized  the trinity as a number and the 5 cosmogony elements. The symbol is used today as a sign of the so called 'Group E', a nationalist group that focuses on ancient Greece and "preservation of Hellenism". This is a team that has operated for many years in Greece, reminiscent of a cult, conscripting new members, and initiating them to a cosmogony theory, according to which on Earth are  beings with different DNA who are in a fight with the Greeks, which according to them, are superior to all others.

The members of this organization believe Zeus and not in the twelve gods because according to their theories some gods turned against Zeus. They loathe Christianity and Byzantium, and see themselves as direct descendants of the ancient Greeks and their actions are against the political system and the economic establishment. For them the mountain Taygetos bears vivid symbolism, so it is no coincidence that they chose to act from there.

Perpetrators

The perpetrators are a 52 year old from Kalamata and four men from Drama, aged 34, 30, 28 and 25, one of which was a Special Guard that was fired. The five allegedly said they wanted to "take action against the political system" and the beginning would happen from Messinia. They chose Kalamata, as they said, because from there the Revolution began in 1821. As they allegedly told the police, they attacked the Bank of Greece as 'opposition to capital and Masonry "and the statue of Palaeologus as opposition against Byzantium." The plans were to hide in surrounding mountains and descend only to conduct attacks.

The goals

The two bombings against the bank branch and the statue of Paleologos were only a rehearsal. The plans of the nationalists bombers were to be more powerful and possibly deadly attacks.

Those arrested confessed that they intended to carry out bombings in the prefecture of Messinia, the Court, the Tax Office and the City Hall of Kalamata, ie buildings located in central and lively parts of the city.

The authorities discovered their hideout in Kalamata, where they found other improvised explosive devices, more sophisticated and powerful than those used in their first attacks.

Authorities also found shotguns, knives, ax, professional bow teizer and 2,300 cartridges. Among the findings was equipment that would allow their planned survival in the mountains.
