Tension with refugees at FYROM border
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The temporary stay camp for refugees in Idomeni has been inundated, following the decision of FYROM to allow passage through the neutral zone only to Syrians, Iraqis and Afghans.
A protest, yesterday, by about 200 Iranians in front of the entry point, asking to cross borders resulted in disrupting the flow of refugees crossing.
Finally, at dawn, as Alexander Voulgaris, representative of the UNHCR, many refugees managed to push through in the neighboring country, through the fields. According to data of the General Police of the Central Macedonia Region, today at 6 am, 4,000 refugees of the three nationalities (Syrians, Afghans and Iraqis), crossed into FYROM.
