Farmers to meet with Greek PM today
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
At noon representatives o Greek farmers who are blocking main road junctions and border crossing across the country reacting to the news pension plan, will meet with the Prime Minister. Farmers blocking the Nikaia crossing are requesting a separate meeting tomorrow, Tuesday.
However, it seems that the first dialogue scheduled to take place today might not bring the desired results in de-escalating tension and industrial action
Farmers from several other blockades have stated that they will remain on the roads emphasizing at the same time that if the government does not commit that it will withdraw Minister Katrougalos’ draft based on their proposals, they will intensify their protest actions blocking the roads indefinitely.
Moreover, the farmers at the roadblocks of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace have already decided not to attend the meeting with the prime minister
