A wildfire that broke out on Saturday evening in Dervenohoria, central Greece, on Monday was still in progress.
The fire has two major fronts and is burning a pinetree forest. 65 fire engines with a 160 member crew assisted by 133 firefighters on foot, 30 soldiers, 5 firefigthing aircrafts and four water dropping helicopters are at the area battling the blaze. According to Fire Brigade, the condition is now easier because the gusty winds that blew in the area on Sunday have faded. The fire is not threatening residential areas, said the authorities.
