PM Tsipras to address UN General Assembly on Monday

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will address the plenum of the UN Summit on the management of refugee flows on Monday. The prime minister is in US to attend the General Assembly of the United Nations.

The working session is scheduled to start at 08.30 and will last until 19.30 (New York time). Tsipras is expected to deliver his speech between 12.00 and 13.00.
Afterwards Tsipras will address the fourth Round Table of the UN Summit (Global compact for responsibility-sharing for refugees; respect for international law) will follow.
On Tuesday UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will offer a reception in honour of the heads of states and governments followed by an event by the president of the General Assembly and the UN Secretary General for the first anniversary of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
he leaders' summit on the refugees issue chaired by US President Barack Obama will follow.
On Wednesday, Tsipras will meet with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
On Thursday, Tsipras will meet with the Archbishop of America Demetrios, with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and later he will address the UN General Assembly.
The Greek premier will depart from New York to Vienna on Friday 23 September.
