Pool "hustler" in Parliament

A lover of fast cars and an "ace" with the cue has taken over the seat of an ailing member in the Greek parliament.

New Democracy (ND) MP for Karditsa has resigned his seat in the House, citing health problems that have recently become more acute. His position will be taken by runner up Giorgos Anagnostopoulos, son of veteran ND cadre Theodoros Anagnostopoulos.

The new deputy is no stranger to parliament benches having been elected again in 2007 in the short-lived second Karamanlis administration.

He was born in 1980 and resides in Athens. His likes hangouts in the posh Kolonaki district and along the coastal suburbs south of Athens. He has a passion for fast, expensive cars and billiards. In fact, Mr. Anagnostopoulos' performance in the game is such, that prizes he won internationally gave him additional points for entry into law school.
