Giannos Papantoniou charged with felony

Former Finance and Defense Minister, Giannos Papantoniou is being charged with felony for failing to declare his assets properly in his tax statements.
Prosecutor, Eleni Raikou, has decided that former PASOK minister Giannos Papantoniou should be facing charges, for specifically failing to declare his assets in his 2010 and 2009 in his means and assets tax statement. For the latter, he is being charged with misdemeanor.
His wife, Roula Kourakou, is also been charged with the same felony, since she also declared false and insufficient data for the same years.
This case first came to the prosecutor's attention through the so-called “Lagarde List”, according to which he had a bank deposit abroad of 1.3 million dollars that had not been declared in Greece.
Papantoniou and his wife claim have denied the charges.
