Fires amidst the snow

In the heart of winter amid severe weather it is expected that the Fire Brigade rushes to assist and evacuate people in the snow.
Despite the logical contradiction the Fire Brigade had to intervene and extinguish 70 brush fires in one day, as reported in the Service twitter update.
Fifty two incidents of brush fires were registered the day before. Although these were minor fires the number is considered very high for the winter and especially under current weather conditions.
Note that most of them broke out in Northern Greece and especially in areas of Evros, Rodopi, Xanthi and some in the Peloponnese.
