The conclusion of the second programme review and the participation of Greece in the ECB quantitative easing programme are the government's targets, government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos on Monday said in an interview with Skai TV.
"A Euro Working Group (EWG) has been scheduled for January 12," he stated and stressed that the government seeks the acceleration of the procedure for the restoration of trust in the Greek economy. "Elections are not in the agenda," Tzanakopoulos reiterated adding that the government is working for the conclusion of the Greek programme review, the participation in the ECB quantitative easing programme in the first quarter of 2017 (...) so that the country exits the crisis.
On the Cyprus issue, he said that the conditions are not the best possible right now and added: "Greece's position on the issue of security has been clearly expressed. We insist on the abolition of guarantees and the withdrawal of Turkish occupation troops."
