Gvt. invites municipalities to cooperate in publishing Greek forest maps
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Alternate Environment and Energy Minister Sokratis Famellos appealed to Greek municipal authorities to cooperate with efforts to publish maps defining the extent of Greece's forested areas as quickly as possible, in a letter sent to the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) on Wednesday.
The minister called KEDE to a working meeting, noting that the participation of local authorities in this effort, barring a few exceptions, was "distressingly and unjustifiably low" while expressing confidence that "we can cover the lost ground."
