Gov't spokesman: Capital controls will be lifted very soon

The capital controls will be soon lifted, State Minister and government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said on Wednesday addressing the conference of the Panhellenic Exporters Association.
The lifting of the capital controls will strengthen the export activity, he underlined.
"The capital controls have been already eased and we will be in position, very soon, to lift them," said Tzanakopoulos.
Referring to the export sector, he noted that despite the heavy pressure because of the crisis, it managed to have remarkable results.
"It is impressive that in the last five years, the years of the crisis, the sector posted almost a 30 percent increase," he said and estimated that the impressive performance will continue in the next period.
