The new symbol and political declarations of the Democratic Coalition were approved unanimously by the delegates on the last day of a three-day conference in Athens on Sunday.
"Today, more than ever, we need a contemporary social-democratic party, a contemporary center-left that can bring about change. Growth, employment and solidarity are our three main aims" PASOK leader and the coalition's head Fofi Gennimata told participants.
She added it is necessary for the Democratic Coalition to find common ground with other parties and for political forces to achieve a consensus on important issues. Gennimata also noted the need to restore the strength of democracy and the institutions.
"The institutions are attacked daily by the government of SYRIZA-ANEL. The prime minister gave an unprecedented example of a regime mentality by considering high court decisions with which he disagrees as an institutional obstacle," she said.
She also said that a new party leader will be elected by the end of the year.
