Prime Minister undergoes hernia surgery, back in office hours later

Greek PM Aklexis Tsipras was rushed to hospital where he underwent ubmilical hernia surgery.
“Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, was admitted today at 15.00 to the Eugenidio Treatment Center, where he was scheduled for a hernia removal surgery. The prime minister wants to thank the doctors and the hospital staff from his heart “, a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Press Office said, on Friday.
Mr. Tsipras felt intense pain in the lower abdominal area late Thursday and was taken to the Evgenidio hospital on Friday where doctors ascertained he was suffering from
umbilical hernia and should be operated on immediately. According to reports, the Greek PM was accompanied by Health Minister Pavlos Polakis. The operation took place by Dr. Dimitris Theodorou, Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Athens, MD, doctor of the Ippokration Hospital Upper Digestive Surgery Unit. He is considered to be one the best surgeons in his field.
